MKT-265 Module one blog

     My life consists of a lot of digital media time and even in my work environment, digital media is apart of my life. I would say I don't visit websites that much but I do utilize a lot of time through apps such as Tik Tok, Snapchat, Instagram and even Facebook. Tik Tok is a social media platform for creating, sharing and discovering short videos. This application is used by millions of Americans to be a platform for everyone to express themselves by singing, dancing and even comedy! I utilize Tik Tok I would say half of my day because I find it as a application that helps me calm down and relax. The next application I utilize the most is Snapchat. Snapchat is another social media application that allows you to send pictures, videos to your friends! I love to use snapchat to stay connected with old friends that I don't get to see very often. Instagram is the next application I use. Instagram is a social media application where people are able to share pictures and videos to their followers and the world! Instagram allows users to upload pictures and videos, edit them with filters and share their posts! The last application I use the most is Facebook. Facebook is application that allows users to stay connected with friends, share media files and make posts on their pages regarding what's on their minds! Social media applications are what I use daily and although sometimes it can be a toxic environment, Social media applications are great for many other reasons and I love them. 

     I would say majority of the time I have positive reactions when using certain medias. I love to keep connected with my friends and how I do that is by updating my status or posting pictures that my friends react positively which is the best way I can stay connected with them even if we don't hangout anymore. As mentioned before, social media can present a negative impact on peoples lives due to some harsh reactions from people around the world. The only times I negative reactions when using one of these applications is when I dig into topics that are touchy on society and see others making a joke out of it. When I see stuff like that, it gives me a negative reaction of that application and makes me shut it off. I like to look at the positive sides of these applications so I will have more positive reactions then negative. 

    I would say my needs are met over the digital media that is Tik Tok more than the others. This application is my form of entertainment mostly so I would say my needs are met more with this application than the others.  

    I do receive emails from companies such as Amazon, Publix and even Disney! The type of emails I receive are mostly just promotional advertisements unless it's something from Amazon then the thing that will catch my eye is what I ordered and when it was delivered. 

    The thing that I notice the most about digital media in marketing today is that everyone including big companies are utilizing it to give their company an advantage. Big companies, small companies and content creators on these digital media platforms, they are all utilizing digital media to promote their business or their personal self to gain attraction in society. Companies want to promote their business to receive more cliental which results in more revenue each year. Digital media whether it is websites or applications are ways for you or your company to reach cliental all around the world and promote your business. Cliental will checkout your business and you receive more money in the end!
